Tofo Beach

Mozambique was another country we skirted through rather quickly, I had Malaria there for the third time on the trip, we were well seasoned veterans on how to treat this disease so we quickly found a room with air con and went about feeding me coartem for the next 3 days. It was very mild the third time round.

I have very few photos of Mozambique from this trip, this one was taken by my step dad.

Track to Pomene

I’m a big fan of sandy tracks, there’s not a more fun driving surface when you’re in a good 4×4, we had a disco 4 on this one. I was impressed with the offroad ability of this “electronic” 4×4.

Runaway Crab

When using a fisheye lens, you have to get close to your subject, sometimes too close. If whatever you are trying to photograph is living and has legs or wings it will inadvertently run or fly away.

Sun Sun Sun

Now that its here, let’s hope it stays.

This photo is from Pomene in Mozambique, I spent quite a bit of that holiday in bed with Malaria, it’s a horrible thing to catch and I’ve had it 5 times.

The guys in the photo are Joe, the one eyed kite surfing wonder, and his Son.

Pomene – Mozambique

I’ve been to Mozambique a couple of times and the diving is excellent, in Pomene we were able to dive in the lagoon or the ocean, the lagoon dives had a number of small creatures that live in the grass at the bottom of the lagoon that made it quite unique. Sadly since we were there a few years back the local people have harvested all the grass, it’s probably used in cosmetics or traditional Chinese medicine.

Here’s a fun shot taken with a fisheye lens. The trick with fisheye lenses is to get as close to your subject as possible, be careful not to bump your lens on the subject it’s easier to do than you may think.
