I’ve only ever been caught in one of these while driving, I instinctively just left the road, drove about 200 metres away from it and waited for it to pass. The reason for leaving the road is I have no faith in the truck drivers. The number of horrendous accidents we saw on our 75’000 KM journey was phenomenal, the trucks are poorly maintained, some of them have no brakes, no lights at night and most of them have bent chassis’.
