Take nearly any lens and put the sun in a corner and you will most likely end up with something like this in your screen. Sometimes you’ll even end up with a little rainbow in the image, if you look at the bottom right corner you will notice a faint one in this image. I’m sure there is a very dull technical explanation as to why you get these effects, probably something do with the reflection or refraction of the light as it passed through the elements of the lens. Whatever the cause is, I like it.
