Here’s a photo I took a few years ago of our cat Hector sitting on the balcony.
The reason I’m posting this is because in the last week Hector has become very ill, he has Lymphoma and is deteriorating at such a pace that is is very painful to watch. He’s been weak for the last week and yesterday we got the test results back form the sample they took from his stomach, it’s not very good news. He seems to have lost his sight at some point yesterday so we’re a bit lost on what to do.
I have had cats since I was a baby and all I can say is that he has been the most loving friendly cat I have ever had. For the last 7 years he’s always wanted to play, always wanted affection and has been a great companion sitting next to my computer while I’ve processed thousands of photos over the last years. When it’s finally time for him to go we will truly miss him. I don’t think I’ve cried this much in my life, it hasn’t stopped for the last 3 days.
We’re going to try and get the oncology department in the Zurich animal hospital to give him a final check to see if there is anything we can do.
As I was looking in my Lightroom library for a nice photo of Hector, I realised that all my photos of our cats are always the first ones I ever take with a new camera or lens.
